It seems GTA Definitive Edition had a major impact on Rockstar Games moving forward. With rumors that Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4 remasters were canceled after its major failure to move more resources to GTA 6. Now it seems that Red Dead Redemption 2’s PS5 and Xbox Series ports have been canceled for the same reason. Latest rumors claim Red Dead Redemption 2's next-gen port for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S was 'canceled' as Rockstar moves all its resources to GTA 6 development pic.twitter.com/ucon8VCV4Q — Dexerto Gaming 🎮 (@DexertoGaming) July 11, 2022 As reported by Dexerto the rumor is that Rockstar is dedicating all resources to GTA 6. Red Dead Redemption 2 has been heavily negated by Rockstar Games since its launch. With multiple campaigns on Twitter trending called SaveRedDead falling on deaf ears. This is surprising considering RDR2 sold over 40 million copies and is still considering one of the best games of last year. The single-player is held with high regard for its realism to this day with content creators showing off new discoveries. Red Dead Online on the other hand has suffered greatly. Since the beta testing the multiplayer was oversaturated with boring repetitive content often gated with high grind goals to push microtransactions. With Rockstar often reducing in-game earning options. It’s expected as GTA V makes an estimate of $2 million a day. Rockstar has capitalized on this by re-releasing the game on every major console since launch. With the latest release being a slight update that barely delivers anything major. This just a rumor for now but considering Rockstar’s current reputation it’s not unbelievable.
