Gears of War is one of Microsoft’s most beloved IPs since debuting back on the Xbox 360. And it seems Microsoft is working on a Gears of War collection.

As reported by Gamespot, similar to Halo: The Master Chief Collection this collection would likely follow the same formula. A collection of all the major games, Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, Gears of War Judgment, Gears of War 4, and Gears 5. With improved frame rate, combined achievement list, all content released, and likely a remaster of the second game. The first game was already re-released as Gears of War Ultimate Edition which was well-received by fans and critics. The second game is beloved by many and the third game is often considered the best in the franchise.

Re-releasing the games in an updated collection would bring new life to the franchise. Giving fans a chance to relive the series with multiplayer offerings, especially the incredible cooperative campaign of Gears of War 3. Hopefully, if true, it’ll launch better than Halo: The Master Chief Collection. A game so infamous in its release that many compare it to Fallout 76’s launch.

The most recent release, Gears 5 released back in 2016 to massive acclaim. Many loved the semi-open areas and optional missions to undertake. However, many felt the game’s ending fell short. Many players compared it to the infamous Halo 2 ending as the game just ends.
