In August, Deck Nine Games announced that the Life is Strange Remastered Collection would be delayed from its initial release date. Deck Nine wanted to give their team more time and lessen any extra pressure on them due to the pandemic. At the time, it was just pushed back to “early 2022,” but today, we have a date of February 1st.

The Remastered Collection was made using a new engine, and among other things, you’ll see updates to lighting and animations. Deck Nine even added in brand new motion-captured facial animations to bring the games closer to what they did in True Colors. Chloe’s hair looks even bluer and Max’s freckles stand out more are two of the improvements I noticed immediately.

In addition to the visual updates, Before the Storm will also include the “Farewell” episode included in the Deluxe Edition and the Zombie Crypt outfit for Chloe.

Containing both Life is Strange Remastered and Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered, the Collection will be available on Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles.

If you purchased the Life is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition, you’ll still receive this for free when it releases.

Are you ready to take on Max and Chloe’s story again? Or, having finished True Colors, will you be a newcomer to Arcadia Bay?

Life is Strange: True Colors is available now for most consoles; later this year for Nintendo Switch. It earned high praise from this author, calling it a “near-perfect package wrapped up with great characters, intense moments, and even better music.”
