Evil Dead has been around since 1981 when the first film was released in theaters and the world was introduced to Ash Williams and the Deadites. Since then, there have been four movies, a television show, and countless other tie-ins in the form of comics and video games. (And a musical!) Those games had been primarily for older consoles, VR, and mobile. Evil Dead: The Game will be the first main console game released since Evil Dead: Regeneration in 2005.

The gameplay trailer shown at Summer Game Fest did not disappoint, as it showcased all the things the series is known for.

in addition to Ash, you’ll also see Kelly Maxwell, Scotty, Lord Arthur, Pablo Simon Bolivar, and more from the movies and television show. I’m hoping Ruby, from the Evil Dead television show, will appear at some point. The game will feature multiplayer co-op and PvP modes for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S & Series X.

There’s only one thing to say about this – it’s going to be one groovy time. Will you be picking up the game when it comes out later this year?
