Innersloth’s Among Us remains one of the most popular multiplayer games available. Easy to play and can produce some heated experiences. Those yearning for new updates are waiting but in a recent developer’s blog, the developers provided an insight into why it’s taking so long. Speaking on the topic, Innersloth had this to say about the delays: “Among Us gained incredible traction pretty late into 2020 that we weren’t expecting, and that meant A LOT of change for us. Not to dive into too much organizational stuff, but not only did we need to switch back to working on Among Us after thinking it was done, but we also needed to set ourselves up more sustainably to work on the game.” “We never expected all of this to happen (thank you!!!), so we’re taking it slow and steady to make sure we can keep sending good things your way,” Basically, the developers did not expect the surge in popularity. The constant desire for new content has led to some dangerous crunch. Fortnite’s developer Epic Games is notorious for having staff constantly working on new content for the popular title leading to a heavy workload. In comparison Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment has been working on new updates at a reduced rate to prevent this. With Among Us being a small studio of 3-4 people creating updates, testing them, animation, planning, and so much more takes a long time. Among Us content is on the way, we just have to wait.
