The Wii U was one of Nintendo’s biggest fumbles. Most of its games have been ported to the Switch, except Xenoblade Chronicles X for some reason, but those original versions did still receive support for the time being. Super Mario Maker was one of those games but support is ending early 2021.

Users will no longer be able to upload courses to Super Mario Maker on the Wii U starting March 31st, 2021.

Services that will end

  • The ability to upload courses in the Wii U version of Super Mario Maker
  • The Super Mario Maker Bookmark website

Due to this, the following features within the software’s Course World will also become unavailable:

  • Updating the ranking of liked courses
  • Looking up your bookmarked courses

An error message will be displayed when trying to access these discontinued services after their end date.

Gamers can still play courses uploaded before this date and redownload the game after its removal from the eShop.
