Square Enix has a history of revealing games too early and then having a long development period. Such examples being Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Well, it seems Square Enix has learned from this with a report from Gemsatu showing that the basic development of Final Fantasy XVI is done. According to Gemsatu: Basic development and scenario production for Final Fantasy XVI are already compete, according to a new recruitment page for the title on Square Enix’s careers website. “We have already completed basic development and scenario production, and are continuing to create large-scale resources and build boss battles while expanding our various development tools,” the website reads. “Also, most of our staff are carrying out their work remotely.” This doesn’t mean the game is close to finishing. There’s still playtesting, animation, textures, bug fixing, QA and so much more. However, not revealing the game so early in development was a great move from Square Enix if this is true. Final Fantasy XVI is in development for PS5.
