It’s no secret that the next generation of consoles are going to be powered by some pretty great technology from both PlayStation and Xbox, and CD Projekt Red knows it. They announced plans to bring Geralt of Rivia’s latest saga to those consoles last week, even along with some PC updates! (Just in time to get that 3080, right?) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5 with a range of visual and technical improvements, including ray tracing and faster loading times. Will be FREE to all current owners of the game on PC, PS4 and XO. Stay tuned for more info! pic.twitter.com/TygqDVgcOm — Marcin Momot (@Marcin360) September 4, 2020 Owners of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt on PC are also going to get some upgrade love, as two of the things specifically called out were ray tracing and faster loading times. HDR will also come to the PC version of the game as well. These upgrades will apply to the base game, the expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, and the multitude of other extra content that released. Marcin Momot, Global Community Lead at CD Projekt Red confirmed the updates will be distributed as a “regular update” for current owners of the game, it will be out in 2021, and available for the vanilla version, as well as the Game of the Year versions of the game.
