A new Fable game is heading to the Xbox Series X and Windows 10. Playground Games is developing the upcoming title, which will be a “new beginning” for the longtime franchise. Take a look at the long-awaited trailer below. Microsoft announced the game today as part of its showcase. The francise fans fell in love with was originally released in 2004 for Xbox; the last game in the main series, Fable III, launched in 2010. The series is a choice-driven roleplaying game in which the player’s actions will impact their reputation and role in the game’s world. Mediatonic also released Fable Fortune, a free-to-play collectible card game, in 2018. Fans of the series have been asking for a sequel to Fable III since it was a tad lackluster compared to the first two. While the simple, straightforward title implies, Fable appears to be a new start for the 15-year-old franchise, which was created by Peter Molyneux’s Lionhead Studios. Microsoft may finally be eager to get a full new title out but the drama between them and Lionhead is extensive. However, the trailer seemed to give off the same humor fans will recognize. Hopefully, gameplay will be released but as of now, we know very little. The new Fable is coming to Xbox Series X and Windows PC and will be available through Xbox Game Pass.
