Ubisoft announced the release date as part of its Ubisoft Forward livestream, which also included an extended look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Take a look at the new trailer below.

The release date actually leaked on Saturday, just ahead of the Ubisoft Forward Event. But now it’s confirmed for November 17th 2020.

Players are put in the role of Eivor, a Viking from Norway, as they attempt to lead their people to establish a settlement in England.

Valhalla, continuing the customization and RPG trends that the series has been following for the past few years, albeit with a few new wrinkles. Instead of the hunter (bows), warrior (melee), and assassin skill trees, Valhalla has “wolf,” “bear,” and “raven” trees that correspond loosely to those categories, although they’re less strictly defined in previous games.

Different weapons and armor sets also synergize with those categories, so “raven” armor sets will get a boost if you’ve invested heavily in stealth-based skills, while a pair of wolf axes will get a bonus if you focused more on the corresponding skills.

The gameplay even showed off the weapon types and that you can duel wield nearly all of them, including duel shields, because why not? If you want to see more gameplay take a look at the video at the bottom of this article. Ubisoft showed another 30 minutes of gameplay.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is coming to both current and next-gen consoles, PC and Google Stadia. The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions appear to be launching at a later date.
