In a very surprising announcement at the New Game Plus Expo, SNK’s Samurai Shodown‘s next DLC character is The Warden from Ubisoft’s multiplayer For Honor.  Take a look below.

This was definitely a weird choice and crossover that was announced, where The Warden was revealed as the final character drop for SamSho‘s season two pass. If you haven’t played For Honor, The Warden is a Vanguard hero that you can choose out of playing as Knights, Samurai, and Vikings. Starting to see why this is a weird choice yet?

The Warden is armored to the teeth and equipped with a devastating broadsword. So he definitely fits the profile for a fighting game with swords. Also, SNK is no stranger to crossovers, such as Haohmaru from Soul Calibur and Skullomania from Fighting EX Layer’s, it can’t be denied that the visual style of Warden seems a little out of place at first. In the end, the character will bring something new to the game.

The Warden will be able to purchase in-game tomorrow, June 24th, priced at around $6. They join the previous season two characters Mina Majikina, Iroha, and Sogetsu Kazama.

Samurai Shodown is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia.
