The new character trailer for Guilty Gear Strive was showcased during today’s New Game Plus Expo presentation. It gave us almost two minutes of the flow and continuity of the new Guilty Gear action fans have been waiting for.

For the first time, fans were given a deep look at gameplay for Zato-1 and Millia as they’ll appear. Take a look at the trailer below.

Zato-1 was first to take the stage in the Guilty Gear Strive trailer, although he did bring his friends along with him, of course. Eddie still fights by his side and grants him the power to control the shadows. We all get to see his juggling moves in full array in the reveal. He seems to be a force to be reconned with. The majority of Zato’s moves, much to fan’s delight, still appear to revolve around taking advantage of those shadows to nearly cover the screen with spikes, traps, and beast forms that’ll keep the opponent locked down for days.

As far as Millia, and her gorgeous locks of hair, she still appears to have everything that makes her special from previous games. Her various hair whips and spikes though it all has a new makeover and they make her attacks look super distinct and stylized. She is as quick and graceful as we last saw her, so fans should be able to whip up some easy combos before it needs a second washing.

Players that might have been worried that Guilty Gear Strive’s gameplay might be too slow should look no further than all of the crazy stuff Millia and Zato can do here. These two are combo gurus in the right hands. While the action seems a little slower overall, we see they can still cross you up remarkably fast and combo you into oblivion.

Guilty Gear Strive had been set for a late 2020 release before getting delayed into next year. This new trailer states its current release window is scheduled for early 2021 on PlayStation 4.
