Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s battle royale mode Warzone was revealed this week by Chaos. Who posted, and took down, footage and information regarding the new mode. Now, Activision has confirmed Warzone and much of Chaos’ information. Including that it’ll be free-to-play, will launch tomorrow, require 100 GB of free space, and PlayStation owners can play online without PS Plus. Warzone will feature 2 modes, a 150 battle royale mode and Plunder for free. Those with a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will get early access hours before the mode goes live on March 10th, 8 AM PDT. Players on PlayStation 4 can play without PS Plus by using Battle.Net but Xbox One players will still need Xbox Live Gold. Those who decide to purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have all their progression transfer to the core game. Whereas owners will instantly have all cosmetics unlock between both modes. The battle royale mode will have 150 players drop onto the map with up to 2 friends. The map called Verdansk will feature maps from past Call of Duty games and distinct locations. Players can earn Cash by completing in-match contracts, on the field, and killing players. Which can be used for killstreaks, self-revives, and reviving allies. Those killed can participate in the Gulag match once during a match. If victorious the winning player is revived and spectators of each match can throw rocks to stun active players in 1v1 Gulag match. The map will include 5 types of vehicles. · ATV – two seater, provides minimal protection, good at offroading, fast. · Tactical Rover – four seater, provides minimal protection, solidly fast, solid at off-roading. · SUV – four seater, provides good protection, medium speed, not ideal for off-roading. · Cargo Truck – holds the squad plus equipment, excellent protection, not for off-roading, slowest. · Helicopter – four seater, decent coverage, flies. In Plunder players must obtain as much Cash as possible through the same methods as the battle royale map. You can store your Cash in specific locations but will likely be heavily watched by enemy players. This entire mode will require a large download of 81-100 GB of space. So plan accordingly. Call of Duty: Warzone launches on March 10 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
