Apex Legends developer Respawn announced today via Twitter that the original season 1 map, Kings Canyon, will be available to play in regular matches for a limited time starting tomorrow, February 21st until February 24th. The current map, World’s Edge, has been the default map since season 3.

It’s a welcome call back to many players’ first foray into Apex Legends, and comes at the perfect time for newer players to experience the original drop zones like Skull Town and Bunker. Just be wary of lurking Caustics.  We will see Kings Canyon again soon outside of this weekend, but only in ranked play during the second half of the season, and during occasional seasonal events like “Fight or Fright,” last halloween. Hopefully this won’t be the last time we see the map in non-ranked play, but Respawn have been a little coy with their announcements in the past, so squad up and drop hot this weekend before it’s gone.

He's been gaming since he was a wee lad with the Sega Master System way back when and, aside from a 5-year romp through the academic halls of anthropology, followed the gaming industry religiously. He is an avid lover of metal music and sometimes will even play his guitar or sing if necessary. There are no games or genres outside of his purview. Really anything he could play to boost his gamerscore on Xbox Live. You can find him there, usually playing something old because of an ever-increasing backlog, sometimes playing something new when he's able. He has tattoos of BioShock, dead space and borderlands 2 so far, with plans to add as many as he can for those games deemed worthy. He may run out of space. Look, he really really likes video games okay? Okay. Also, he streams sometimes on twitch.
