Nemesis is waiting.

With the remake of Resident Evil 3 on the way, the demo for its predecessor contains an easter egg alluding to the iconic horror villain.

Umbrella’s science experiment gone horribly wrong can be heard growling “STAAARS!” right outside the entrance of the police department in Resident Evil 2’s R.P.D. demo.

After heavy rumors and an early PlayStation Store listing, Resident Evil 3 was officially announced during PlayStation’s State of Play briefing on Tuesday. It will launch on April 3, 2020, and come bundled with Capcom’s multiplayer project for the series, Resident Evil Resistance.

Jr. Staff Writer

Nick is a junior staff writer at GAW who loves hockey and a good RPG. The first game he played was Ice Hockey on a hand-me-down NES, and having grown up with the PS1, he knows the first three Crash Bandicoot games like the back of his hand and can recite every track from PaRappa the Rapper on the spot if you ask him to. Along with writing for GAW, Nick also works on the sports desk at the Philadelphia Inquirer. If he isn't on skates in his free time, he's probably trying to cycle through several 60-plus hour games at once.
