Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer mode has been called into question. With rumors about loot boxes and pay-to-win microtransactions coming during post-launch. Recently, Infinity Ward took to their official site to set the record straight. First explaining that there will not be any loot boxes and now detailing the progression system.

The progression system will include loadouts and customization options unlocked after level 3. Players will be able to climb the ranks but there’s no Prestige system. Instead, players who reach level 55 can obtain Officer Rank. This seasonal rank will have 100 ranks and unique rewards. With players earning seasonal Ribbons. Earning 10 ribbons will get you a Season Emblem and 100 ribbons will get you an animated Ribbon.

What are some of the ways you can gain XP through normal gameplay?

·      By completing Multiplayer Matches, and Special Ops Operations and Missions.

·      By completing Daily Challenges, short objectives that are usually able to be completed within a play session.

·      By completing Challenge Missions; multi-step objectives that also result in other rewards (see below).

·      By completing Camo Challenges; which unlock variations of base weapon camos and also offer you XP boosts.

·      Once Officer Ranks are unlocked, there are additional Officer Rank Challenges (see below).

Players will earn experience by completing challenges and playing the game. With weapons having their own leveling system with about 50 upgrades per weapon.

Camos earned by leveling up a weapon unlocks the base camo for that weapon. After earning the base camo, a set of camo challenges is unlocked, allowing you to earn a set of colorful and cool-looking skins within a camo set for that weapon. In addition, camo unlocks earn you XP rewards.

Still, after the post-launch content of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 gamers still question Activision’s motives. The company attempted to sell a Red Dot Sight and included loot boxes into the game after it launched.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25th for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
