It’s only once in a blue moon that the stars aline to make an anime, hack-and-slash, RPG. However, when it does you get games like Oninaki. Square Enix, at their E3 presentation, showed it’s audience why they are still the best with JRPGs. Take a look at the trailer.

Players will assume the role of a ‘Watcher’ named Kagachi, doing battle by “manifesting” the souls of Daemons, which act as the classes found in traditional roleplaying games. As far as we know, each Daemon has its own unique weapons and skills, and players can shift between them in real time to gain the upper hand in battle.

In the story, players will move between the Living World and the Realm of the Dead known as the Beyond. Kagachi must save the souls of the Lost, as the story of life and reincarnation in this wondrous kingdom unfolds.

Oninaki arrives on 22nd August 2019 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam. Are you interested in the artwork and gameplay? Tell us in the comment section below. Stay Tuned to Gaming Access Weekly for all your E3 news.
