Many were excited when Capcom announced that Devil May Cry would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. However, Capcom has elaborated that it’ll only be available on the eShop.

The news was revealed on the official Devil May Cry website that states
“This product is only available as a download. There are no plans to release a physical edition,” says the Devil May Cry website.

This will likely disappoint fans who enjoy collecting their games, like myself. But this seems a common practice for publishers when releasing older titles for the Nintendo Switch. Some physical versions of rereleases have been shown to not include the entire product. For example, Final Fantasy X/X-2 only included Final Fantasy X and offered a digital code for Final Fantasy X-2.

Another example was Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 1 which are offered as physical copies but not Resident Evil 4.
