DC Universe Online launched back in 2011 and brought the DC Universe to the gaming world. Now, a Nintendo Switch version will launch this year.

Revealed on Twitter, DC Universe Online will be free-to-play but an online subscription with Nintendo Switch Online is still required. “Bringing the game to the Switch was something that’s very close to my heart,” said Daybreak’s executive producer Leah Bowers stated to CBR. “Nintendo was the first console I really connected with; and yet, I associated the brand with first party or platform games. But when the Switch came out, it blew my mind and highlighted the possibilities that were there.”

With the Nintendo Switch being so popular and combining both console and portable gaming this may be the spark that the game needs.
