Back in 2017, Mass Effect Andromeda launched and it wasn’t up to standards to the original trilogy. A technical mess and littered with predictable story elements the game is often seen as a black within within the franchise. However, many worried if the series would continue following this especially after BioWare announced Anthem. The franchise is still “Very much alive” according to BioWare leads. Speaking to Polygon BioWare’s Darrah and Hudson spoke openly about Mass Effect and its future. Darrah and Hudson confirmed that Mass Effect isn’t going anywhere despite the missteps in Andromeda. “We’re definitely not done with Mass Effect,” Darrah said. “There’s a lot of stories to be told. We could pull on the threads we put down with Andromeda; we could pull on threads from Mass Effect 3. There’s a lot of interesting space to be explored.” Hudson reassured that BioWare will come back to Mass Effect in time but are currently working on other projects. It’s good to hear that one of the best science-fiction franchises is not dead and will return soon. Despite Andromeda’s rough start, the series has potential.
