Those looking for to PlayStation Experience 2018 will be sad to hear that Sony has decided not to host the event this year.

Sony’s Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios Shawn Layden confirmed that PlayStation Experience will indeed not happen this year during a podcast for PlayStation Blog. Layden understands that fans will be bothered but provided a logical reason for the decision.

Sony doesn’t have an expansive lineup of confirmed titles set to launch in 2019 with the most notorious being Days Gone. Despite titles such as  The Last of Us: Part 2, Death Stranding, Days Gone, or Ghost of Tsushima in development none of these titles have a release date although many expect them to reason before the end of 2020.

Considering that Sony is already riding high this year with titles such as Shadow of the Colossus PS4, God of War and Spider-Man, the latter of which broke Sony’s fastest selling PlayStation exclusive record and are the highest rated games of 2018, the PlayStation 4 already has more than enough reasons to convince gamers to purchase a system now.
