Get ready to GO trainers! Starting on September 13th the mobile AR phenomenon Pokémon GO will be hosting a brand new event. Players will be able to catch some of the rare Kanto region (Gen 1) Pokémon because they will now appear more often in the wild and in Raid Battles until September 30th. Did you miss your chance to even catch some of the Legendaries? Well, we have some good news, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos are also making a comeback in Raid Battles from September 13th to September 20th with the opportunity to catch a shiny form of the legendary Pokémon. If you think that is exciting, get ready for this. On September 20th at 1:00pm (PDT) / 3:00pm (EST) until October 23rd, 1:00pm (PDT) / 3:00pm (EST), for the first time Mewtwo joins the Raid Battle scene outside the EX Raids. Yes! This means you will be able to team up with other trainers to challenge the Legendary Psychic-type Pokémon. Will you be up for the challenge? The event has a few bonuses explained more in detail according to Niantic: Region-exclusive Kanto Pokémon Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime and Tauros can now potentially hatch from 7km Eggs, which are obtained through gifts from friends. Previously, the 7km eggs only contained the Alolan Pokemon forms. Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will appear in regular Raid Battles across the world through September 2th0. This is a chance to catch these legendary Pokemon from the Kanto region. There’s even a chance that the Shiny forms of these Pokémon will appear in a raid near you, so keep an eye out. Finally, on September 20th (from 1 pm Pacific), Mewtwo will appear in Raid Battles. Prior to this Mewtwo has only shown up as an EX Rade encounter, but now the ultra-rare genetically engineered Pokemon can show up as a part of raids. Pokémon Go is available free on iOS and Android.
