During Gamescom2018, Narrative Director Omar Shakir of Just Cause 4, released a new trailer to give fans a look at some new gameplay. Gamescom (probably one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world, alongside Tokyo Games Show and E3) was a great place for Square Enix to show off one of the game’s major additions: extreme weather.  The gameplay trailer has our main man Rico taking on a tornado. Take a look.

“In this mission, Rico’s pursuing a tornado as it weaves a path of destruction across the grasslands. And this [lands on armored truck] is the Storm Chaser, the only vehicle that allows him to do so. Thanks to Avalance’s Apex engine everything you see, as well as the tragectory of every sprialing object is being calculated, in real time.”

Just Cause 4 is coming out this holiday season and it looks just as action-packed as its predecessors, this trailer sums up everything in the series and Avalanche’s new Apex engine is being shown off to really drive the point home.

As we already know, players will once again control rogue agent Rico Rodriguez, and he journeys to Solis, a huge South American region full of conflict and oppression. The wingsuit and grappling hook make their return, along with a multitude of explosions, car chases, and as we see in the above trailer, tornado chasing. The Just Cause series is always jam-packed full of action, so, only time will tell what else Rico will be able to do.

Just Cause 4 releases on December 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
