Behaviour Interactive Teases a New Killer in the Dead By Daylight: First Cut Trailer Christine M August 23, 2018 Consoles, Microsoft, News, PC, PS4, Sony, Xbox One Over the weekend, Behaviour Interactive released a teaser clip for the newest killer on their Dead by Daylight Instagram page. The clip revealed two sets of scratches on a sliding door, with an unknown figure walking then running and pulling open the door remaining hidden as the screen went black. After its release, fans flocked to the comments section with many speculating that the new killer would be a Japanese legend called the Kuchisake-onna or Slit Mouth Woman. With killers from notable franchises, like Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger, this wouldn’t be too far of a stretch as the Slit-Mouth Woman has her own movie Carved: The Slit Mouth Woman. Others took to the Dead by Daylight subreddit to speculate a new mechanic wherein survivors could close sliding doors to slow down their pursuer. Now Behaviour has released a new trailer on the Dead by Daylight YouTube channel, revealing that the new DLC chapter will be called “First Cut.” The trailer starts off showing a traditional Oni mask used to represent fierce demons in Japanese literature and art. We then see a figure, presumably a man by his voice, holding a bloodied samurai sword and speaking in Japanese which was translated by user Donnary21st: “There is no point, dear daughter. We are born to die. The more we wait, the more pain we carry.” The screen then goes black while a struggle can be heard in the background. The samurai can be heard either slicing, or attempting to slice his victim, which ends in glass shattering. It would make sense for his victim in this video to have escaped and become the new survivor, but no details have yet been confirmed. In the last few seconds of the video, the killer’s words have been translated by Aquila Imperiale as “Next will be bigger.” While there has been no release date for the new chapter on PC, Xbox One, and PS4; we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
