Remedy Entertainment has a lot of acclaimed titles under its belt such as Quantum Break, Max Payne, and Alan Wake. Whereas Rockstar has continued the Max Payne series Alan Wake has been in limbo for a while now. With its sequel canceled and Alan Wake American Nightmare being the last installment in the franchise Remedy has moved on to new projects including the newly revealed Contol. However, Remedy hasn’t forgotten about the franchise and would love to make another game in the series.

When speaking to DualShockers, Remedy’s Mikael Kasurinen told the publication:

“So we own the Alan Wake IP, yes. I just want to say right away that it’s very dear to us and close to our hearts. We all love Alan Wake at Remedy and I think all of us want to see a new Alan Wake game. I just want to say that out loud. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to it anymore than that. We’ll see what happens with Alan Wake next but we all want to see it happen, absolutely.”

Released back in 2010 for the Xbox 360, at the same time as Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake received generally positive reviews for its use of supernatural forces and unnerving situations. The story ended with a cliffhanger with Alan Wake American Nightmare attempting to finish up the narrative.

Remedy Entertainment does own the IP and according to Kasurinen’s statement, the studio would like to make another game.
