Those wondering if The Division 2‘s map of Washington D.C. will cut off parts of the environment shouldn’t fret. Ubisoft has confirmed that it’ll be a 1:1 recreation of Washington D.C., stating it’ll be “more authentic than ever”.

“Unlike anything before it, The Division 2’s Washington D.C. is a 1:1 representation of the real city, making the game world more authentic than ever. The game’s map offers up-close-and-personal views of landmarks, natural landscapes, neighbourhoods, and enemy hideouts.”

A large recreated environment is great but what you put into that environment is much more important. As we’ve seen with titles such as Yakuza 6: Song of Life the size of the environment doesn’t matter as much as what’s inside it. However, Ubisoft Massive has shown they’re taking the criticisms of the first The Division and trying to build a better experience. One of the more common complaints was the lack of variety in terms of activities and locations. Judging from the gameplay shown Ubisoft Massive is looking to build a much more diverse selection of activities for players to engage in.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will be available on March 15, 2019, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
