Stalker fans can finally rejoice as GSC Game World has confirmed development on Stalker 2 and given a release date of 2021. Regain the Russian post-apocalyptic wastes from enemy combatants and abominations in another installment in the Stalker series. Not much is known about the sequel as the website only shows the new logo and an expected release date mentioned above. The GSC Game World site doesn’t have much either about this new title, only confirming the date of release. Even though this is amazing news, fans are only getting a tease of information about the project and with such little information released, speculation and hype are bound to skyrocket. This isn’t the first time GSC has tried to announce Stalker 2. In 2010 the studio dropped that Stalker 2 was coming on the wings of a much better engine. When GSC closed about a year after that announcement, fans were sent into a frenzy. Luckily GSC returned to the realm of the living in 2014 and since then the studio has divided its efforts, designating several teams to start work on Stalker 2. Many games have attempted to mimic the success of Stalker like Escape from Tarkov but none have been able to capture that nostalgic sprawling post apocalyptic world space filled with unsightly beasts and dangerous radioactive gas.
