The PlayStation 4 has had a monumental footing within this generation of gaming. With a strong selection of exclusive games such as Shadow of the Colossus PS4, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Nier: Automata, and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, the system has a multitude of reasons to purchase a PS4. Now, the company has confirmed some structural changes to increase production of first-party games developed and published by Sony.

Sony stated they plan to provide more games that keep the existing audience coming back while encouraging gamers who don’t own a PlayStation 4 to purchase one.

Increasingly, the value of interactive entertainment is differentiated by the broad spectrum and depth of experiences that it provides to customers. As such, SIE’s mission to create and develop the most attractive and powerful first party titles has become more important than ever. To fulfill this purpose, also effective April 1, Shawn Layden, current Chairman of Worldwide Studios (WWS) and SIEA President, will concentrate his focus on WWS continuing to provide platform-defining content that helps drive the growth of SIE.

The company will restructure sales and marketing division within Sony Interactive Entertainment America, Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe, and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia to report to Jim Ryan, the company’s deputy president and head of global sales and Marketing at SIE.

Ryan will also head different regional branches along with John Kodera, who is president and CEO at SIE following Andrew House’s departure.
