British independent studio Sumo Digital announced they’ve acquired CCP Games’ Newcastle Studio.

CCP Games has been in VR development with its recent multiplayer space shooter EVE: Valkyrie as one of the platform’s more prominent titles. In 2016 it was the most downloaded VR game on the PlayStation Store. Despite the success, the studio has refocused on making mobile and PC games.

Sumo Digital is currently developing Crackdown 3. In addition, the studio announced last year it would be taking on the development of Dead Island 2.
