A reliable leaker of Weekly Famitsu and Dengeki PlayStation issues has reported that Atlus is developing some sort of ‘follow-up’ to a popular PS3-era title. Furthermore, evidence points to being related to Catherine, the quirky puzzle game set in a Persona/Shin Megami Tensei-esque universe.

Courtesy of Gematsu and Siliconera, the leaker’s posts have been translated. According to the leaker, Ryokutya2089, Atlus is developing a new game based on a property created in the PS3-era. However, it’s a little bit hazy about what it exactly is.

While Ryokutya2089’s headline suggests it could be a sequel in some capacity, he noted that the game’s title didn’t have a number. He believes that the game might be a “full” version or “all-included remaster”— though, he wrote that the wording is strange because this title didn’t have DLC in the first place.

This title has been rumored for months. If the leak is to be believed, this game will be properly be revealed before the end of the year.

So, just what could this game be exactly? Many argue that it’s either a remaster or sequel to Catherine, one of the few new IPs Atlus introduced in the PS3 era. Atlus’s Studio Zero, which was created from the Persona team (which also created Catherine!), is known to be working on an unannounced title alongside Katsura Hoshino’s Project Re Fantasy. Atlus also broadcasted a recruitment call for new workers to join Studio Zero, using one of Catherine‘s characters.

Excited for Catherine 2 or a possible remaster? Let us know! As the year comes to an end, we hope to see if this leak comes true or not.
