SK Gaming have beaten Astralis in a breathtaking grand final match up on home soil to become the BLAST Pro Series champions. The tournament was played out in a round robin format. Six teams were invited to participate in the form of FaZe, Ninjas in Pyjamas, G2 Esports, North, SK Gaming and Astralis. Due to the format, only the top two teams of the group stage would proceed to the grand finals. G2 and NIP finished their group stage with a 1-1-3 record. In fourth, North finished with a 1-2-2 record. FaZe finished in third with a 2-1-2 record which meant that SK Gaming finished above them with a 3-0-2 record. Astralis finished in first with a 4-1-0 record in the group stage. SK and Astralis did battle on Mirage, Inferno and Cache. Map one went to Astralis with a 16-11 scoreline, thanks to some strong performances from dupreeh, kjaerbye and Xyp9x. Map two, Inferno, went in the favour of SK Gaming. The Brazilian side were able to close it out with a 16-8 scoreline, with the entire team performing well. The third map, Cache, was an intense affair. SK Gaming were 9-0 down before mounting an impressive comeback. The game turned into a back and forth affair, but the Brazilians were able to secure overtime thanks to some incredible gameplay from FalleN and boltz. SK were able to run away with overtime to secure the map 19-16. SK Gaming beat Astralis 2-1 in a best of three series to secure the Blast Pro Series championship.
