Last week, we learned that Gazillion Entertainment was closing, and in conjunction, Marvel Heroes. Support for the game was supposed to end on December 31st, but following Gazillion’s recent closure, all support for the game has ceased. In an official announcement from Gazillion Entertainment on the Marvel Heroes Twitter, the company announced its closure and that all operations for Marvel Heroes Omega have ended on all platforms. Originally, the game was supposed to end on December 31st with all microtransactions removed, but since the studio has closed, all support for the game has ended. In a goodbye tweet, the company thanks everyone for their support from their employees and community. However, in response, the community has been asking for refunds for purchasing content on Xbox One and PS4 since the game only launched for months before being shut down, but all requests been refused so far. Andrew Hair, senior engineer at Gazillion, tweeted about the firings at Gazillion, saying “I know a lot of people are upset and wanting refunds for their purchases in @MarvelHeroes, but please keep in mind the developers were not paid out PTO, severance, and our medical insurance is ending in 8 days.” Marvel Heroes is a Diablo-like action-RPG featuring a wide range of Marvel characters. The game was first released on PC back in 2013, while the Omega versions launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earlier this year.
