The Assassin’s Creed franchise is known for having a poignant message about time, life, and memory and the latest trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Origins hits on all those points.

The entire trailer is cinematic and features no gameplay but the combination of visuals and music help set the mood for the decline of Egyptian society and the birth the wars that will follow. Ubisoft did all this using sand, a lot of it.

The trailer adds no story elements or new characteristics of the main character, Bayek, but is displays small snippets of life from several Egyptians during the final days of the civilization where everything turns to sand.

Assassin’s Creed Origins launches on October 27th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
