Preschoolers can now experience the world of Pokémon with a brand new application called Pokémon Playhouse available on iOS and Andriod devices.

Unlike Pokémon Go or any of the Pokémon 3DS or console games, Pokémon Playhouse has activities specifically designed for children ages 3-5. This includes:

  • Grooming
  • Looking for Pokémon
  • Starting a band
  • Feed them treats
  • Take them to an interactive park
  • Puzzles
  • Stories

A human character acts as the guide for players. As the player progresses new Pokémon are added to the player’s collection via an egg hatching system. There are over 50 different Pokémon to collect which is small considering that over 300Pokémon exist now.

Pokémon Playhouse, unlike Pokémon Go, doesn’t have any in-game purchases and is completely free to download. All content added to the game will be free.

The next major Pokémon game, Pokémon Ultra Moon and Ultra Sun, releases November 17th for Nintendo 3DS.
