September starts this week, that means 2017 is halfway over. We’ve seen the release of a lot of great games this month such as Superhot for the PS4, Nidhogg 2, FortniteSonic Mania, and Uncharted 4: The Lost Legacy. However, what was the best game of August 2017?

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is one of the most profound and disturbing action-adventure games available now. Senua is a talented warrior plagued with a mental illness that blends together reality and fiction. Voices haunt her, shouting a mixture of encouragement, anger, support, vexation, and much more. By the end of the adventure, Senua’s journey will leave you speechless. In our own review, COO, John Donadio, has this to say:

“Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice spoke to me on a level that may not hit others. However, the game is completely worth a playthrough (or five). It is wonderfully written, beautifully landscaped, and rich in culture and knowledge. The game’s sound design is impossibly real. The colors and detail of the world around you immerse you in the mood changes of Senua’s adventure. She is the strongest female character ever created, and Ninja Theory has a game to be amazingly proud about.”
