Capcom’s official blog announced that rapper Lupe Fiasco’s launch party for his latest album, DROGAS Light, will also kick off Capcom’s Pro Tour and the announcement for the next Street Fighter V DLC fighter. Lupe Fiasco is a noted fan of Street Fighter, and he took part in exhibition matches for a Capcom event last year. The event will be held in San Francisco at the Folsom Street Foundry. Last year, we watched Lupe Fiasco face off in an exhibition match against famed Street Fighter player Daigo Umehara there. This year, you’ll be able to catch some pre-season matches. The main event is a rematch between Ricki Ortiz and Du “Nuckledu” Dang, who faced off in the Capcom Cup 2016 finals. Other famous competitive players like Daigo and Filipino Champ will show up as well. Street Fighter V‘s second Season 2 DLC character will be announced week. The blog doesn’t clarify whether or not the trailer will drop at the event, however, there’s a strong possibility you’ll see the character reveal there. Who could it be? Is the character in the DROGAS Light poster a hint at this new character? Or perhaps, will Lupe Fiasco himself be a playable character in Street Fighter V? We’ll find out next week, and the character will release into the game some time before the end of February.
