Square Enix’s NieR: Automata has officially gone gold, according to Producer Yosuke Saito’s latest Tweet. Development on the game wrapped up and is ready for release day.

According to Saito, The game has actually been gold for some time. He didn’t state exactly when. However, he noted that it’s been a recent trend for developers to make this sort of announcement, and decided that the team just wanted to put the announcement out there.

This is one good announcement lately for Platinum Games, the developer studio behind the gameplay. Earlier this year, Platinum Games’ Scalebound was cancelled by Microsoft due to a difficult development cycle. NieR: Automata is at least one of their big releases this year, along with a title based on the popular GranBlue Fantasy mobile games.

NieR: Automata will launch on March 7 for PS4; the PC version doesn’t have a release date yet. Excited to play? You can download “DEMO 120161128” to get a taste of its slick action gameplay. We’ve previously covered the demo, and if you want to learn more, you can read up here.
