The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is already a massive adventure packed to the brim with open world content, but Nintendo has plans to further expand the game. Eiji Aonuma announced that for the first time in the Zelda series, Nintendo will be providing additional DLC content. Expect new challenges, modes, features, and even a new dungeon. As soon as the game launches on the 3rd of March, players will be able to purchase the Expansion Pass. For $19.99, you’ll be able to get access to two major content updates as they roll out over 2017. Breath of the Wild‘s first content pack will be released over the summer. This expansion brings the Cave of Trials, which you can expect to be like the Cave of Ordeals or the Savage Labyrinth from Zelda games in the past. You will also receive new features for the map and the option to set the game to a Hard mode. The second expansion, due holiday season 2017, offers a brand new adventure by adding a new dungeon into the game. According to Nintendo, this dungeon will offer an “original new story.” When you immediately purchase the pass, the game will spawn three new treasure chests in the Great Plateau area. One of these chests will contain a special cosmetic outfit for Link: a T-shirt with the Nintendo Switch logo on it. The others will have special goodies to help you with the game. Both the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U versions of the pass will be identical in content. Nintendo additionally noted that you cannot purchase the content packs separately. The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild will launch on March 3 for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
