So far, Tekken 7 has only been available in Japanese arcades, but this year’s home console release will change that. We now have a western release date in sight: June 2, 2017. Ready– fight! Tekken 7‘s home console and PC release will incorporate fine tuning and various balancing from its arcade version. Story mode, new characters, and online tournament modes are also major new features added into this version of the game. A Collector’s Edition will be available. The highlight of the Collector’s Edition is definitely the insanely cool 12” tall by 18” wide statue of Kazuya and Heihachi. The statue showcases the two in a dynamic pose, where Heihachi holds off Kazuya’s jumping kick. The Collector’s Edition comes with a special Steel Book and the official Tekken 7 soundtrack. Pre-ordering the game will give you access to the DLC character, Eliza. Xbox One players will also get an extra bonus: a free digital version of the Xbox 360’s Tekken 6. Details for the Season Pass were also provided. The season pass will provide three content packs which contain “new playable characters, new stages, a new game mode, costume packs, and a bonus 35-piece Metallic Costume Pack.” Finally, Bandai Namco explained a few exclusives unique to the PS4 edition of the game. A unique Jukebox Mode feature will allow players to listen to legacy tracks from throughout the series, and to create playlists of Tekken music while they play. Legacy costumes for King, Xiaoyu, and Jin from Tekken 2 and Tekken 4 will also be exclusive. Tekken 7 will launch on June 2, 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and on Steam. Here’s an additional story and gameplay trailer that accompanies this announcement.
