Ending a ten-season spree, Erik “DoA” Lonnquist and Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles have decided not to return to the caster’s desk for the LCK.

Both casters, who are widely regarded as one of the most prominent and well-known casting duos in League of Legends, also sat out of last year’s World Championship. While DoA rejected the invite extended to him by Riot to cast the event, MonteCristo did not so much as receive an offer for the first time in three years.

2016 saw the two move into Overwatch, casting OGN’s Overwatch APEX series and the Overwatch World Cup, so it’s little surprise to fans that MonteCristo and DoA may be looking to back away from competitive League. DoA even mentioned to TheScore esports back in November that, although he isn’t completely finished with League of Legends right now, he feels that it would be best if he were to move on from the scene. The two promise to explain their reasoning for the, heart-wrenching” decision in the near future.

In lieu of MonteCristo and DoA, the LCK will be broadcasted with Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith, Seth “Achilios” King at the caster’s desk. Along with PapaSmithy and Achilios will be a currently unnamed personality that has been recently hired by OGN.
