Blizzard invites you to Overwatch‘s holiday season event, which starts on December 13. Overwatch will spread the holiday cheer by a wintery makeover, and you can be almost certain that we’ll see seasonal loot boxes and other themed content.

Yesterday, Blizzard sent a Tweet containing an animated gif of a holiday season greeting card that officially reveals when we can expect Overwatch‘s holiday update. On the cover of the card you can see the map King’s Row, except it now features Christmas lights and lots of snow. You can expect that, as part of this event, some of the maps will receive a holiday season visual revamp.

Previously, dataminers had found a Christmas time arrangement of the main theme which you can listen to via GameSpot. Fans speculated that there’d be a holiday season update like the Olympics and Halloween events, and the datamining proved the holiday events would likely be officially confirmed soon.

Like the Summer Games and Halloween events, you can bet that limited holiday loot boxes and new items are coming with, presumably, new character skins being among these loot box rewards. So, if you want to earn the event-exclusive rewards, you’ll need to play hard to earn these holiday goodies.
