If you were hoping that a new overlord would step up to the plate to claim the title of World Champion from SKT, that hope probably just died.

Three-time World Champion team SK Telecom T1 has announced that they have signed Han “Peanut” Wang-ho to be a part of their 2017 roster, replacing Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong who left the team late November. The reveal confirmed a report made by ESPN’s Jacob Wolf, who claimed that a part of Peanut’s new contract with the organization demanded that he discontinue streaming gameplay to his Twitch channel due to the partnership SKT has with Azubu.

One of the most beloved players in the Korean scene, Peanut most recently played for ROX Tigers, which he joined January of this year after a year of playing with NaJin e-mFire. After the conclusion of Worlds, where ROX Tigers placed 3rd-4th after playing one of the most intense games in League of Legends history against SK Telecom T1, the team disbanded as the players decided to pursue new opportunities with other teams. Peanut reportedly received several offers from both western and eastern teams but chose to remain in his home country of South Korea.

During the 2016 LCK Summer Split Peanut averaged 164.9 creeps per game, with a CSPM of 4.6 and a GPM of 380. Using Elise and Rek’Sai as his main champions, Peanut maintained a respectable KPAR of 75.3% while holding a KDA of 6.25. It’s difficult to compare him to his predecessor Bengi, or his current teammate Blank, due to SKT’s habit of rotating through their larger-than-average roster leaving their players with fewer games than others, but it’s safe to say that Peanut will be bringing a fair share of talent to the table as he works to continue the dynasty that SKT has established in League.

Not only does the roster move put SK Telecom T1 that much further ahead in terms of on-paper talent, but Peanut’s ability to recover and think creatively when the pressure has been laid on makes him an invaluable asset to the team. With Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Bae “Bang” Jun-sik, Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan and Peanut together on the same roster, players that have proven time and time again that they are the best in the world, many fans are left wondering if there is any team in the world that will be able to end SKT’s reign.

SK Telecom T1’s League of Legends roster, at present, is as follows:

Name Role
Kim “Profit” Jung-hyung Top
Kang “Blank” Sung-gu Jungle
Han “Peanut” Wang-ho Jungle
Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok Mid
Bae “Bang” Jung-sik AD Carry
Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan Support
Kim “TaeHoon” Tae-hoon Support
