Cuphead, the much-anticipated Xbox One/PC game who’s animation resembles a cartoon out of the 30s, has been unfortunately been delayed until next year.

Developer Studio MDHR announced the news yesterday in a brief post on its website, saying it now intends to launch the game in mid-2017. While most of the comments are pretty positive, some fans requested at least a demo to play. This most likely won’t happen and they will just have to wait like the rest of us.

“Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact,” it explained. “We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in mid-2017.” One of the trailers that got people hooked is below if you need a refresher.

“[W]e wanted to finish our game 80 years after 1936 but it will now be 81,” it quipped. What do you think about the delay? Are you annoyed? Tell us in the comments below. Stay tuned to Gamer Assault Weekly for more on Cuphead and for all your gaming needs.
