Jacky “EternaLEnvy” Mao has taken his leave from Team Secret’s Dota 2 lineup, according to the Dota 2 Majors registration list, ending his one-year run with the team.

Despite making it to The International 2016, where they placed a disappointing 13th-16th after losing against LGD Gaming, Team Secret has seen a fair amount of trouble with performing since the start of the year. Their first event of 2016, StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 1, saw the team take 5th-6th after losing to Alliance. This kickstarted a series of disappointing placements, including ESL One Manila where they took 5th-6th and The Manila Major where Team Secret placed 13th-16th.

Several changes were made to the Team Secret Roster since March, including the departure of Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora and the return of Theeban “1437” Siva as coach, which did little to assist the team in seeing success. It wasn’t until the qualifiers for TI6 rolled around that things began to finally look up for Team Secret, though fans’ hopes were abruptly dashed when they were knocked out in what was one of the most intense games of The International 2016.

Neither Team Secret nor EternaLEnVy have yet commented on the split, or what plans they may have in the future.
