Hand of Fate 2, the sequel to Defiant Development’s colorful, action RPG , has a sequel coming to fans and new players alike. Adventurers explore a fantasy world wrapped in darkness, built from collectible cards distributed by a magical dealer, sort of like a meta-board game. Now Defiant has an announcement just in time for PAX West.

That’s right, a brand new character, named Colbjorn, will make his playable debut at PAX West. In a press release Colbjorn’s character and abilities are outlined;

“Colbjorn plows into combat with heavy, club-like short swords, knocking back enemies with melee attacks and lining them up for easy kills. His talents extend beyond the battlefield, as he also provides adventurers an extra die to roll during the tabletop mini games.”

Hand of Fate 2, for those unfamiliar with it, tells the story of the ‘Dealers’ defeat, return, and revenge “while improving on the original formula by introducing a diverse range of objectives for completing levels, a variety of weapon types such as two-handed and dual wielding.”

You can check out the official announcement teaser trailer below.

Morgan Jaffit, director at Defiant Development, talks a little more about but Colbjorn and the Companions part in Hand of Fate 2;

“Colbjorn’s brute strength is an invaluable asset to anyone’s journey and he’s an intriguing ally to discover. Companions add another layer of depth to Hand of Fate 2, pairing with new cards, enemy suits and a host of other features to make this journey equal parts unpredictable and riveting.”

You can find a playable demo at PAX West in booth 6310 before Hand of Fate 2‘s launch on Xbox One and PC launch early in 2017. Go and test your fate and get a sneak peek at Colbjorn.
