Fnatic has made the decision to make their return to the competitive Overwatch scene by signing the roster formerly known as Nubris, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

The team is composed of players that hail from both the North American, Oceanic and European regions, including Sweden-natives Andre “iddgd” Dahlström and Oliver “Vonethil” Lager and Australia’s Scott “Custa” Kennedy. The roster also includes Robert “Roflgator” Malecki, who has already proved himself as a skilled Overwatch coach in the short time that the game has had an established competitive scene.

“It’s an honor to be able to work with such an amazing group of players under the most legendary org,” said the coach in his statement, “We have the tools to become the best team in the world, and my goal is to help this team accomplish just that.”

Despite Fnatic being based in Europe and fielding European players, the team will live and compete in North America.

Since its inception, the Nubris lineup has performed relatively well. They placed 1st-4th in the North American Gamescom Qualifier at the 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown, and have had positive results in GosuGamers’ weekly Overwatch events. Fnatic’s new roster is composed of prominent names in the scene that displayed enough promise that Fnatic feels it worth the risk to jump regions.

“It really means a lot to be Fnatic’s first US based team,” said flex player Matthew “coolmatt69” Iorio, “They saw enough potential in us that they considered it worthwhile to transcend regions. We’ll be sure to repay their faith.”

This isn’t the first time the organization has stepped into Overwatch. In October of 2015 Fnatic announced that their Battlefield 4 roster would transition into the new scene. After a number of roster changes, however, it was announced in January that they would be parting ways with the lineup, who would go on to play as REUINTED.gg. The new Fnatic Overwatch roster is as follows:

  • Robert “Roflgator” Malecki – Coach
  • André “iddqd” Dahlström – DPS
  • Scott “custa” Kennedy – Support
  • Oliver “Vonethil” Lager – Support
  • Casey “buds” McIlwaine – DPS
  • Warsi Faraaz “Stoop” Waris – Tank
  • Matthew “coolmatt69” Iorio – Flex
