After a miserable performance at The Manila Major, Saahil “Universe” Arora has left Team Secret to join Evil Geniuses, according to a press release made by Team Secret’s director on Thursday.

Universe first joined Evil Geniuses back in 2013 after leaving Team Dignitas. He stayed with the organization as their offlaner for approximately two years, establishing himself as one of the West’s best offlaners and an exceedingly talented user of Dark Seer. During his time with Evil Geniuses they placed third at The International 2014, first at The International 2015, and found consistent success at other major events.

Replacing him on the Team Secret lineup is Kanishka “BuLba” Sosale. BuLba first played for EG back in 2012 after leaving It’s Gosu eSports, but would later leave to play with Team Liquid for nearly two full years. He left Digital Chaos to return to the organization when Universe left with Artour “Arteezy” Babaev in March during the roster shuffle that took place following The Shanghai Major.

Because the two teams are trading offlaners outside of the trade season, Evil Geniuses and Team Secret will have to secure their spot at The International 2016 through the open qualifiers at the end of the month.

“We would like to thank our fans for their continued support through this period of transition,” said Team Secret, “It’s going to be a difficult road to The International, however, rest assured that the team will give it everything they have.”
