Tomita Technologies filed a lawsuit against Nintendo that has been overturned.

In 2011, Tomita Technologies filed suit against Nintendo for infringing on it’ s patent regarding the 3D display on the 3DS. In 2013 Nintendo was found guilty of infringement, however, today a court has overturned the ruling.

The original ruling would have had Nintendo paying $30.2 million but after some investigation it was found that the 3DS does not follow the original patent. Federal Judge Jed Rakoff has officially reversed the original ruling.

Nintendo has had it’s fair share of lawsuits including a case against the Wiimote.
