The Walking Dead shooter from Payday developer Overkill Software has been delayed out of 2016.

Starbreeze, the parent company of Overkill, has announced that the game is now expected to ship at some point during the second half of 2017.

As to why this delay is happening, Starbreeze explained that this will allow Overkill to add more content to the game as well as develop an Asian version of the game. “The partners are convinced this will pave the way to success, maximize revenues, and cement it as a tent pole product for the next decade to come.”

Of course, if you’re wondering about the content of this game, you aren’t the only one. Nothing is really known about the game itself other than the fact that it’s a co-op shooter set in The Walking Dead universe. It will feature new characters and narratives.

505 Games, the company that will be publishing the game, has lofty goals for the game saying they believe it could exceed the success of Overkill’s Payday 2.
