Everyone is sweet on the retro gaming. Sega just announced a collection for the 3DS, and Atari is jumping on that wagon. A compilation is coming to Steam this spring, featuring more than 100 retro games which includes some of their more well known games, such as: Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Tempest, and Warlords.

The compilation, Atari Vault, features local and online multiplayer support, Steam leaderboards, and support for the Steam controller.

Atari Vault is being developed by Code Mystics. They have already worked on several compilations already on the Nintendo DS, and also the mobile compilation Atari’s Greatest Hits. The latter of which had 100 old-school Atari games, 18 were arcade ports, with the remaining 82 coming from the Atari 2600 console.

If you’re interested in seeing the game before it comes to Steam this spring, it’s going to be shown at PAX South next week in San Antonio. The PAX South event runs from January 29th to the 31st. If you don’t/can’t make it there, you will just have to wait. Stay Tuned to Gamer Assault Weekly for more information as it is made available and for all your gaming needs.
